Yesterday I attended the Game Plan Road Tour and on a break there was a sampling of different Shakeology recipes.  Now I have to say that I've not previously been a fan of the chocolate version of Shakeology but now I'm thinking I just wasn't making it right.  And I heard several average people I struck up conversations with talk about the personal benefits they got from drinking Shakeology.

So I decided that I'm going to set a personal challenge to drink a Shakeology shake each day for breakfast for at least a week (maybe two) and see what happens in terms of my weight, energy levels and any other change I notice.  I've got some ideas for shake recipe of my own and also will be trying a few of the recipes from Beachbody.

I'll be posting up the best of my recipes here as I go along.

Coach Nancy,

It's ironic you brought up your own person Shakeology challenge.  I started drinking Shakeology about 1 week ago and after 1 full week of drinking it(for breakfast), I lost 3lbs, instead of my normal 1 - 1.5lbs per week.Smile

I wasn't going to say anything about my weight loss because I wanted to try it for another week or two, to see what happens.  I was stunned by the weight loss.  I'm wondering what will happen in the next few weeks!!!

Hey Coach Toni,

That's AWESOME!  Are you drinking the Green Berry or chocolate version?  (I have both.)

I just got back from Whole Foods with a bag full of organic fruit I'm going to mix in different combos with the green berry.  I've got bananas for the chocolate and I'm also going to try mixing it with some coconut.  I'm pretty psyched about the next week.

I usually mix up a Real Mass drink for Chris because he needs now to keep adding weight (all muscle) then make another Myofusion protein drink for Bob and I.  But Bob's metabolism has cranked up so high now that he's struggling to keep weight on (he's dropped about 40lbs so he doesn't need to lose any more weight).  So I'm now going to make a double load of Real Mass for Chris and Bob and then make the Shakeology just for me.

Coach Nancy,

I'm drinking the green berry version of Shakeology.  I haven't tried chocolate yet.

Let me know what Shakeology combination's you come up with.  I'm definitely interested in adding some more flavor and giving myself a few more options.

What type of feedback did people give about Shakeology during the meeting.  I'm curious to know what other people are saying about it.

Today's recipe is NOT a keeper.  Funny I thought it would taste better than it did.  I added 1/2 orange and some mango to the shake.  The orange did not provide the 'tang' I thought it would.  Ended up kind of sweet but very bland.  Tomorrow will be a chocolate shake try.

The common comments we got on Shakeology was that most people like the chocolate version made with a 1/2 banana and some ice in it with a little low fat milk.  Chris and I tried it and were surprised because previously we did not like the taste of the chocolate flavor but the addition of the banana really changed how it tasted.

Common uses for Shakeology was as a meal replacement.  Some folks said they lost a little weight with it and others claimed an increase in energy.

Mostly what we were looking for were the looks on their faces as they tasted it.  What people like varies widely so we figured if they liked it we'd know by their faces (we assumed most would 'say' they liked it).  And their faces did show that most of them really liked what they tasted.  So it was our own revelation on how chocolate could taste better coupled with clear facial 'proof' from others that they liked it that has changed how hard I'll push Shakeology going forward.

Today's attempt (Tuesday - Day 2 of my Shakeology challenge) was a chocolate/coconut shake.  Now this still needs tweaking but it was light years ahead of yesterday's shake.  I'll tweak the recipe a bit later in the week and come back with a recipe fit to post up.

I have to say I'm noticing a significant energy increase today.   Now I can't say it's totally due to the Shakeology but I think Shakeology is helping my overall energy.
