P90x Week 2 – Plyometics & Arms and Shoulders
Sep 14th, 2010 | By Coach Nancy | Category: P90X Transformation DiaryPlyometrics during week 1 was so hard, so daunting, I had a moment of weakness where I thought I might just quit the program. Of course I came to my senses and realized that worst case, I’d have to do is replace it with Cardio x moving forward. But this Tuesday when the schedule said to do Plyometrics, Chris and I decided to suck it up … to ‘bring it’ as Tony would say and we did it.
And I’m glad we did. This time was MUCH better. While we have a long way to go before mastering this routine, we were, at least, still standing when it was over. And we didn’t feel like puking. In fact Chris discovered that someone has fondly renamed this routine as Pukometrics … so we know we are not alone with struggling with this workout.
That done for the week, today we moved on to arms and shoulders workout. Again we saw real progress as Chris is now using weights mostly in the 20lb – 15lb range and I’m mostly working with 15lb and 10lb weights (we are missing 12lb dumbbells which would be a nicety to have). I felt we worked hard and should start seeing some physical results.
After the arms and shoulder workout, we moved on to Ab Ripper X. You do this workout after each of the weight workouts so it’s done 3x per week. Week 1 was pretty tough. Today, I got through most of the workout … without pausing … without cutting corners. I still struggle with the wide leg sit up and the Mason (or Kayak) twist. But I’m comming along and so is Chris.
Tomorrow is Yoga X which I like to think of as ‘tough love’. Try it and you’ll see what I mean!
