P90X Day 4 – Yoga

My first yoga workout had me sweating like a pig for the first 30 minutes.  Tony has you go through this series of moves including upward dog and downward dog and various warrior poses that is way harder than it looks.  Many poses in the next segment I struggled with and one I didn’t even try.

The ab part of the workout was intense and a surprise that I’d have to work my abs so hard after doing Ab Ripper X yesterday.

I have to admit that I’ve never liked yoga.  In part because it requires a certain amount of flexibility that I have never had.  So it’s probably best that I do it because I do believe that adding yoga into my routines will help prevent any injury as I complete other workouts.

Tomorrow is legs & back.  That sounds like a pretty tough workout to me!

  1. Hi Nancy, I have a question. I have to do Yoga today (Im on day 4 of the program) and I find that the workout is just too long for me to do first thing in the morning, unless I get up REALLY early. Do you think I can split it up or is it better off doing all at once later in the day (should I say, night, when kids are asleep and can’t climb on me!)

  2. Hi Jennifer,

    Yoga is probably the only work out that I think is fine to split up into parts. Also for weeks where you are too rushed, I’m OK with substituting x-stretch for yoga. Hope this helps!
