I’m in Love with TurboFire

I figured I’d like these workouts and I was right. OK truth is that I’ve only done the 15 minute HIIT workout so far (I only got my TurboFire yesterday). But the HIIT workout was just what I was hoping for:
- Short duration. HIIT is supposed to be fairly short – 30 minutes or less. Chalene has included 3 different HIIT workouts in this series and all of them are under 30 minutes. Start with the 15 minute one as I did because they will progressively get harder.
- Short cycles. The 15 minute workout has approximately 30 seconds at high intensity and then it seems like about a minute recovery period. Each longer HIIT routine extends the period you are at high intensity until you hit 1 minute on, 1 minute recovery cycles.
- Athletic, not dance moves. While definitely NOT an Insanity knock off, these moves are more reminiscent of what you’d find in Insanity and not at all like what you find in Turbo Jam. This makes the workout something that men will actually like to do – at least the HIIT routines. (I’ll have to do some of the longer cardio routines to see what I think of them and how men will react.) And for women like me who prefer strength over coordination in our cardio this is perfect.
- Great music. Need I say more? This is a key ingredient for any workout.
I can’t wait to do more of this fantastic workout program. I’ve been looking for a program to recommend to women who want to focus more on cardio and HIIT over resistance training and this is it. Don’t get me wrong – I’ll still try to convert y’all to resistance training but this can be a nice ‘bridge’ program to get you there. It will also make a great hybrid program with my core P90X.
In a word – Buy This Program! (OK that was more than 1 word but you know what I mean.)
