P90X & Muscle Soreness

Chris and I had a pretty good workout this morning. We did the Legs & Back workout and I really worked it – especially the pull ups. And the rest of the day I’ve felt that workout in my legs and back.
Muscle soreness is a condition I’ve not only been conditioned to accept, I now embrace it!
Muscle soreness tells me I ‘brought it’ to the workout. Muscle soreness tells me that I did what I should have done which is to create micro tears in my muscles which, when paired with the recovery basics of proper nutrition and rest, will make me leaner and stronger.
Women in particular can have issues with working hard enough to induce muscle soreness. Somehow we’ve allowed the media to condition us to think that working out that hard is reserved for men. We tend to accept the silly notion that the only exercise that should make us sweat is cardio when nothing could be further from the truth.
If you are over weight, it’s because you are eating the wrong foods while wasting away. That may sound at odds but while you pile on the fat, your muscle mass is wasting away. You need intense strength training and proper nutrition to reverse that.
And when you really get this, not only will you too embrace the muscle soreness, you’ll be well on your way to look as good or better than me.
